Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 10, 2026
Stream Siege (“we”, “us”) is a multiplayer tower-defense game played through a Twitch extension, operated by an independent developer. This policy explains what data the game handles and why. It covers the Stream Siege Twitch extension and this website (streamsiege.com). The short version: the game runs on the anonymous ID Twitch gives it, we never see your email or password, we don’t run ads or sell data, and match data is thrown away when the match is over.
Data the extension processes
The extension runs inside Twitch. When you open it, Twitch gives us a signed token containing:
- An opaque user ID — a pseudonymous identifier Twitch generates for this extension. It does not reveal who you are, and it is what the game uses to keep track of your unit during a match.
- The channel ID of the stream you are watching, so we can put you in that channel’s match.
- Your Twitch user ID — only if you choose to share it. Twitch shows you a “share identity” prompt; it is optional. If you grant it, we look up your Twitch display name through the Twitch API and use it as your name in the game. If you decline, you can still play — the game assigns you a generated name instead. We never ask you to type a name, and we never see your email address or password either way.
While you play, the game processes the actions you take (joining, moving, choosing upgrades, casting spells) so the match can run. Like any online service, our game server also sees basic connection data (such as your IP address) as a technical necessity; we use it only to operate and protect the service, not to profile you.
Names appear on stream
Stream Siege is a game played live on a broadcast. Your in-game name (your Twitch display name if you shared identity, otherwise the generated one) appears on your unit in the game view, which the streamer typically shows on stream — being seen playing is the point of the game. If you would rather not have your Twitch name shown, simply decline the identity prompt.
What we don’t collect
- No email addresses, passwords, or account credentials — there are no Stream Siege accounts.
- No payment information — the game has no purchases.
- No chat messages — the extension does not read Twitch chat.
- No advertising, no third-party analytics or tracking in the extension, and no selling or renting of data to anyone.
How data is used and shared
Data is used to run matches, show player names in the game, keep games fair (for example, preventing abuse or impersonation), and debug problems. We do not sell it. It is handled by the infrastructure the game runs on: Twitch (which serves the extension under its ownprivacy notice) and Cloudflare (which routes traffic to our game server and hosts this website). We would disclose data if legally required to.
Retention
Match state is transient: it exists to run the match and is discarded shortly after the match ends. Short-lived operational logs (used for debugging and abuse prevention) are deleted on a rolling basis. We keep no long-term profile of players.
Your choices
Identity sharing is controlled entirely on Twitch’s side — you can decline the prompt, and you can revoke a previously granted extension permission in your Twitch settings (Settings → Connections). For any question about your data, contact us via theStream Siege Discord.
Children
The game is available only through Twitch, and Twitch requires users to be at least 13 years old (or older where local law requires). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
This website
streamsiege.com is a static informational site. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or trackers. It is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which processes standard web-request logs to serve and secure the site.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date. Material changes to what the extension collects would also go through Twitch’s extension review process.
